SAMMY BUCK (bookwriter & lyricist) and DANIEL S. ACQUISTO (composer), collectively known as "Bucquisto" met at the BMI Workshop in New York City in 2000. Since then, they have written the award-winning musicals Like You Like It (NY Innovative Theatre Award, Best Musical), The 7-Year B*tch (Talkin' Broadway, Best Musical Citation) and StinkyKids® The Musical (Off-Broadway Alliance Award, Best Family Musical), and Vital Theatre's The Frog & The Witch and Matthew Takes Mannahatta (bookwriter, Aurin Squire), as well as NYMF's dance musical Andy Warhol Was Right. In collaboration with bookwriter Eric H. Weinberger they wrote the score for the regional theatre premiere of ...And Then I Wrote A Song About It.

BUCQUISTO songs have been performed at the N.E.O. Benefit at the York Theatre, Broadway Bound at Merkin Hall, NAMT/ASCAP's "In The Wings' at the NAMT Festival, and New York Theatre Barn. Their song "Be With Me" is featured on the N.E.O. at the York Theatre CD, performed by Matt Cavenaugh, and was performed by Anthony Rapp in the New Globe's Shakespeare on Broadway.

They are also recipients of the Dramatists Guild's Jonathan Larson Musical Theatre Fellowship. Upcoming projects include UGLY: The Unauthorized But COMPLETELY ACCURATE Sequel To The Ugly Duckling, a Theatre C commission.


DANIEL has written over a dozen children's musicals for The Kaufman Center in NYC, and composed rock musical ANTIGONE (Studio Arena), DANCING IN THE DARK (MusicalFare!), ANYTHING ABOUT SCHOOL ALMOST (Tada!), Raw Impressions, A-Train Plays, and WILD ABOUT HARRY (NYMF commission). Non-theatre commissions: AUDUBON TRAIL (USAF Clarinet Quartet), SING NO SAD SONGS FOR ME (Shawnee Press, publisher), the upcoming film FADE TO WHITE as well the short films Swept and Death of Nathan's Ghost. Daniel is also a percussionist, orchestrator/arranger, music director, and music educator. Member of ASCAP.

SAMMY received a NAMT Writers' Residency grant with composer-co-lyricst Brandon James Gwinn for his book and lyrics for Small Town Story (NY Theatre Barn commission). He has written for the 143rd Edition of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® The Greatest Show On Earth®, the book for NYMF dance musical Common Grounds (Most Promising New Musical Award Runner-Up) and the play BARRY THE HATCHET (All Out Arts, Jerome Foundation Regrant). Films include the horror movie Red Hook (Phase 4 Films, on DVD, digital download or Showtime) and upcoming sci-fi anthology Fade To White. An alumnus of both USC Filmic Writing and the Warner Bros.
